Clifford Chance have had a partnership with Renovo dating back several years. Faced with an organisational restructure aimed at driving operational efficiencies in a number of key areas, Clifford Chance sought to re-engage with Renovo to help support a range of different employees who faced redundancy as a result of the changes. Coming as they did during the pandemic, employees found themselves in the midst of one of the most unique and challenging job markets in recent memory.

The challenge

The situation was more complicated than normal given that many of the employees impacted had long service with the firm and theirroles were quite specialist.
There were a few teams impacted by the changes and there was a concern that employees might struggle to find similar positions in the job market.
It was important to provide employees with the opportunity to consider whether a complete career change might be right for them.

The solution
