Background

UKPN own and maintain electricity cables and lines across London, the South East and East of England – from maintaining and upgrading power equipment to moving and connecting new electricity cables. In response to a new regime imposed by industry regulator Ofgem designed to keep down costs for electricity customers,  they embarked on a cost reduction programme. UKPN originally approached Renovo to support a smaller number of Senior Executives impacted by the early stages of the changes and latterly commissioned us to support over 150 employees across all levels of the business.

The Challenge
The restructure impacted employees across a diverse range of offices and across a broad range of role types and levels within the organisation.
With a large change programme to manage, the UKPN HR team needed an outplacement support framework that would be simple to communicate to staff and easy to implement.
It was also important to ensure that there was real consistency in the quality of support being provided to employees across multiple locations and that the support would be flexible enough to accommodate a very broad range of needs.
The Solution
Renovo worked with the business to put together a comprehensive programme for employees which combined unlimited 1-2-1 support from a Personal Career Coach, access to online resources as well as a programme of 7 online workshops delivered by our award winning coaching team.
Regular, open access ‘Awareness Sessions' were delivered throughout the project, enabling employees to hear at first hand from Renovo how the support could work for them.
This was further supported through the distribution of Welcome Book materials to support the internal communication of the support.
