Background

Having already partnered with Renovo over many years, Trowers & Hamlins found themselves needing to support employees through a large-scale change project impacting the organisation.  As a result of global economic turbulence, a decision was made as a last-resort to make redundancies that would unfortunately impact the wider company with employees coming  from a range of functions and needing a solution that would be fair and consistent, whilst offering both practical job search advice and emotional support. Having received excellent feedback from the individuals Renovo had previously worked with, Trowers & Hamlins chose Renovo as the obvious choice to help deliver this larger project.

The Challenge
Support was required for multiple different role levels and job functions and needed to be available across many locations. The support also needed to be flexible enough to cover a range of different employee needs.
Due to particularly limited levels of recruitment in the legal sector, a longer outplacement programme for all exiting employees was requested by the business, to ensure that everyone had ample support for their ongoing career transition needs.
Trowers & Hamlins wanted to offer a comprehensive solution to their employees rather than a ‘quick fix’, so that each exiting employee was given the time and space needed to address the challenges unique to them.
The Solution
Trowers & Hamlins opted to offer all exiting employees the Professional Plus Programme, a highly flexible package of support which could easily be adapted to meet individual needs, no matter where they were based or their job level.
The Professional Plus Programme gave everyone extended access to a Personal Career Coach across 6 months, as well as 12 months unlimited use of Renovo’s online portal “Workfriend”, which assisted in covering longer potential periods of job seeking.
With each employee’s welfare also a key priority for the business, 12 months access to 24/7 wellbeing support was also offered, to help with issues related to the kind of personal concerns which redundancy can inevitably bring.
